Seasonal Roads: Arranging a Remote Wildfire Treatment Review

Coordinate road availability, site readiness and communications before planning a visit.

By Wildfire Treatment Group.

Describe access as a condition

Tell the provider when the road is normally usable and who confirms its actual status. Explain gates, maintenance arrangements and known restrictions. A customary opening month is not a guarantee that a particular appointment can proceed, so keep the current condition part of the discussion.

Coordinate the property’s readiness

A road becoming accessible does not mean the treatment area is ready. Share any planned cleanup, construction or irrigation work. Ask WTG what information is needed before finalizing the application scope and logistics, especially when the owner is not on site.

Agree on a change contact

Name the person who can report road closures or changed conditions before travel. Keep any rescheduling terms in the actual agreement. Do not ask a contractor to bypass restrictions or use an unapproved route. The proposal should reflect a workable visit under confirmed conditions, with excluded or inaccessible areas clearly identified.
