Using a Colorado Forestry Contractor List

Use a directory to find relevant providers while verifying qualifications and scope directly.

By Wildfire Treatment Group.

Understand what the list means

The CSFS Golden Field Office publishes a forestry contractor list and states that it does not specifically recommend a listed company. Treat a directory as a starting point for contacting providers, not as a substitute for checking the work they offer and the support for their qualifications.

Ask task-specific questions

Describe your location and whether you need forestry advice, tree work, material removal or another service. Ask who performs the work, what records you will receive and what pricing or availability applies. Confirm relevant insurance, licensing and references directly with the provider and appropriate sources.

Coordinate distinct services

If forestry work will precede a WTG application review, share the expected finished condition and timing. WTG’s pretreatment scope should not be confused with a directory listing for forestry services, and this guide makes no claim that WTG is listed or endorsed. Keep the clearing and application proposals separately identifiable.
