Keep the context in the image
A cropped red patch is hard to interpret. When saving a planning map, include the legend, source name, approximate location and the date you viewed it. Record the map layer and its data date if the publisher provides one. These details help the recipient understand what you are asking about.
Explain the question in plain language
Add a short note describing the property concern. For example, identify the rear slope, the main residence or a proposed building site. State whether you want help locating a resource or assessing conditions on the ground. Do not add private access codes or unrelated personal information to a widely shared image.
Retain the original link
Send the official source link as well as the image so the reviewer can read its limitations. For WTG, supplement the map with current property photos and the area you want considered. A saved map is context for the inquiry, not a survey, an application prescription or a live emergency update.
