Wildfire treatment planning for resorts and lodges

Coordinate suitable vegetation treatment around guest accommodations, shared grounds and the people who care for the property.

By Wildfire Treatment Group.

Consider the guest setting and the working property

A lodge or resort may combine cabins, gathering spaces, landscaped grounds and natural vegetation. WTG can review selected suitable areas for planned pretreatment while your team explains how guests and staff use the site. Begin with your priority locations rather than assuming every exterior space should receive application. A defined scope makes the service easier to coordinate and explain.

Connect guest services and facilities early

Reservations, housekeeping and grounds staff may each hold part of the scheduling picture. Identify one project contact who can bring those details together. Share arrivals, events, maintenance work and areas that must remain accessible. An opening in the booking calendar is useful information, while application suitability and arrangements still need direct confirmation.

Review grounds and amenities separately

Point out paths, outdoor dining, play areas, pools, gardens and water features near proposed vegetation. These locations help define exclusions and site-use instructions; they are not automatically treatment targets. Current photos and familiar area names can help an off-site owner understand the same boundaries as the facilities team.

Plan communication around confirmed details

Agree on who informs staff and guests of relevant arrangements and how changes will be shared. Use instructions for the exact product and application plan instead of a generic return time. Describe the project as the treatment of agreed vegetation areas, not as a certification that the resort is safe from wildfire.

Keep the handoff useful for the next season

Save the completed-area record with grounds information. Later landscaping, irrigation changes or new construction may prompt a review. WTG can discuss appropriate follow-up using that history, while the operator continues guest emergency communication and broader property preparedness. Share the address and priority areas to begin a site-specific proposal.
