Look beyond the main residence
A detached garage, workshop or guesthouse may be central to how you use the property. Tell WTG which buildings matter to your project and why. The proposed service reviews suitable surrounding vegetation and fuels; naming a building does not automatically include coating its walls, roof, equipment or contents. Clear priorities help distinguish a focused project from an assumption that the whole parcel needs treatment.
Describe each building’s surroundings
One outbuilding may border natural grasses while another sits beside irrigated landscaping or a paved work area. Note those differences and the way people use the spaces. Colorado State Forest Service recommends considering defensible-space zones around separate buildings, including garages and barns. A WTG vegetation proposal should be discussed alongside that broader property care rather than treated as its replacement.
Make access and stored items visible
Mention vehicles, machinery, fuel storage, work materials and restricted areas that affect the proposed visit. The crew should not have to infer which items can be moved or which surfaces are intended for application. Discuss preparation and exclusions before scheduling. Where a tenant, employee or family member controls access to a building, identify the person who can coordinate with the project contact.
Compare separate scope options
For a larger property, ask whether the areas near different buildings can be reviewed individually. The practical requirements and price may differ even if their footprints appear similar. An option focused on one location does not imply that other buildings will be protected by it. Understand what each proposal includes, what remains outside it and whether separate visits change mobilization costs.
Keep the records tied to the location
Use recognizable building or area names in the scope and completion information. That makes later grounds work and follow-up easier to discuss. If a workshop expands or a guesthouse receives new landscaping, the old treatment record should not be assumed to include the changed area. Share your address and priority buildings to start a review.
