Larimer County Wildfire Partner Assessments: Preparing for the Visit

Use the county’s assessment resources to identify property questions before arranging separate contractor work.

By Wildfire Treatment Group.

Understand the assessment purpose

Larimer County’s Wildfire Partner Program offers educational home ignition zone assessments through local partners. Its official page distinguishes these voluntary assessments from inspections associated with permitting. Check the current request process and ask the program which service matches your needs.

Prepare to discuss the property

Bring current concerns, records of prior work and questions about areas you cannot inspect. Ask the assessor to explain the location and purpose of each recommendation. Keep the report intact, including limitations, so contractors later receive the actual findings rather than your abbreviated recollection.

Commission the relevant work

Separate building, clearing and maintenance tasks from any proposed pretreatment. WTG can review suitable vegetation within its own scope, but a private application does not replace a county assessment or establish that all recommendations have been completed. Do not infer a program affiliation or guaranteed insurance outcome from the presence of this resource guide.
